THE PORTOLANDO PROJECT

This website is the on-line evolution of the volume “Guida ai Porti ed approdi dell'Alto Adriatico" (Guide to the ports and berths in the North Adriatic Sea) published by Touring Club Italiano as part of the Portolando project; its goal is to promote and enhance the value of the maritime and fluvial port system of the North Adriatic Sea for tourists.

The entire project is managed by the Chamber of Commerce of Venice in collaboration with structures and entities playing key roles in the port and maritime sector both in Italy and Slovenia.

Financed by the European Union through the Italy-Slovenia INTERREG IIIA Community Initiative Programme European Union through the Italy-Slovenia INTERREG IIIA Community Initiative Programme, Portolando aims at becoming a useful tool to enhance maritime tourism in the North Adriatic Sea, providing information and recommendations with regard to the nautical sector but also tourism and cultural offers of the hinterland close to the port facilities described.

The integration objective is also aimed at the same port facilities that, thanks to a deeper knowledge of the reference economic scenario, will be able to find new stimuli and ideas to develop more flexible and interesting tourism offers.

But Portolando is more than that, it is also an enjoyable and dynamic guide to discover the wonders of the Venetian lagoon, the Adriatic coast, the fascinating delta of the Po river and of romantic Slovenia.
